Food glorious food

Food is an important part of a stay at Coombe Farm. One of the things we enjoy most about living here is being able to rear and grow much of our own food.

The kitchen is the heart of our home and there we bake bread, cure meat, make jam and cook up whatever the garden offers. We like to use seasonal and local ingredients.

The room price includes both continental and cooked breakfast.  We make our own wholesome granola, preserves, sourdough bread and use eggs from our hens (when available), served with yoghurt, fruit, orange juice and tea or coffee. We make our own sausages and bacon in our on-site butchery using our free-range rare breed pigs.  Should our hens not be laying, we will source local free-range eggs. We can also provide a cooked option for vegetarians.

Evening meals are available too if we have a days notice. We can offer a three course home-cooked meal using free-range mutton, pork, chicken and eggs reared on the farm and vegetables from the garden, or you might prefer a sourdough pizza cooked in our outdoor wood-fired oven. Evening meals can be taken in the guest sitting room or, weather permitting, at any of the outdoor seating areas.

When time permits, we produce our own charcuterie from our rare breed pigs kept here on the farm, which you can enjoy with a drink on the terrace.
