The Stables is a barn conversion, completed in the summer of 2020. It is located in the beautiful grounds of Coombe Farm, adjacent to our traditional Devon long house home. The Stables sleeps 4 people and has 2 bedrooms, each with super-king size bed and en-suite bathroom. The upstairs e-suite has a shower and a separate bath and the downstairs en-suite has a shower only. Either room can be set up as a twin. Coombe Farm is situated in a peaceful valley and is a perfect place for those looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. In consideration of other guests, we ask that evening noise is kept to a minimum.
Well behaved dogs are welcome however we do ask guests to ensure that dogs are not permitted on the furniture/beds and that they are kept on leads when around the livestock on the farm. Children, well behaved or otherwise, are also welcome. The Farm has lots of corners to explore – woods, a stream, rope swings, an outdoor unheated swimming pool (June - September), trees to climb…and WiFi.
Downstairs in the single-story section of the building, there’s an open plan kitchen, dining, and sitting area, with wood burner. The dining area opens out onto a private west facing terrace where you can sit and enjoy a barbeque or relax in the 4-person hot tub. The terrace is a secure area for young children and dogs. Both the terrace and the sitting area have expansive views out onto our beautiful gardens, lawns and stream.
The Stables is a charming old agricultural building, however during renovation it has been fitted with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. It is well insulated, double glazed and has central heating and a wood burner. There is a small laundry with washing, drying and cleaning facilities. The kitchen is fully equipped (by a cook, for cooks) We use high thread count pure cotton bedding and down duvets.
In addition to all the private comforts of The Stables, you are also free to roam Coombe Farm. You can stroll to meet the chickens, swim in the pool, enjoy the gardens, sit by the stream, or picnic on the lawns. It is only a short stroll through the woods along the public footpath that runs through the farm to the village of Goodleigh where you will find the New Inn (www.newinngoodleigh.co.uk). Justin and Julia are wonderful hosts and serve magnificent food. Reservations are a must in the summer or on any weekend.

When you book we will invoice you for a 25% deposit to secure your booking and the balance will be payable 14 days prior to your arrival.
Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to arrival will be refunded in full. Cancellations less than 14 days before arrival will not be refunded.
